Since our beginning in 1987, there have been no fees or auditions to join and membership is open to any interested post high school adult. As stated in our by-laws, our objectives have always been:
When developing our by-laws we selected a motto: MUSIC SHOULD BE FOR LIFE! As time has passed, we have realized the importance of this motto.
The Oshkosh Area Community Band is pleased to announce that we have commissioned nationally recognized composer, Michael Sweeney, to create a music composition for our Silver Anniversary Spring Concert on March 31 of 2012! Our executive committee will be considering ways for our patrons to support this special project. At the present time, if you wish to make a special donation specifically for this commission, please send it to:
Oshkosh Area Community Band
Post Office Box 2931
Oshkosh WI 54903-2931
and identify it as a special donation for this commission.
Thank you for your continued support!
General Information:
Our rehearsals are on Monday evenings. We rehearse in the Oshkosh West High School band room at 7 pm and if you are a "post high school" adult, you are welcome to join us! You may enter directly into the bandroom through "Door 34" located on Eagle Street just South of the Alberta Kimball Auditorium. There are no fees and no auditions to join. We could not survive without your financial help and support. Our sincere thanks for allowing us to continue into our 24th year!
